For businesses that buy packaging

Could your corrugated packaging purchases be relevant to the containerboard case?

A federal antitrust case concerns direct purchases of containerboard sheets, linerboard sheets, and packaging made from those materials since November 1, 2020. Solutions Unlimited Network can help your business take a closer look.

The case

What is this about?

The plaintiffs allege that major manufacturers coordinated prices for containerboard sheets, linerboard sheets, and finished packaging made from them, including corrugated boxes. They allege that a series of price increases raised prices by more than 30% beginning November 1, 2020.

The proposed direct purchaser class covers businesses that bought these products directly from one or more defendants in the United States or its territories from November 1, 2020 onward. An invoice can help identify the supplier, product, and purchase date for an initial review.

It may be worth a look if your business:

  • Purchased corrugated boxes or other containerboard packaging for its operations.
  • Bought those products directly from a manufacturer rather than only through a reseller.
  • Has invoices or purchasing records dating from November 2020 onward.
